Be Inspired: “Don’t Get Discouraged Through the Struggle”

As I started my blog post for something inspirational, I thought, “as if I can write anything inspiring right now“, turns out I am a perfect candidate for this.

I don’t want to bog you down, with my numerous chaos, but I just want to say this real quickly, in the past few weeks – I got hit, HARD! It all started with a need to move ASAP, as our house we have been renting was going up for sale, we had little time to come up with something. The next happening, was that mine and my husband’s washer had decided to give up on us! And then the most shocking of all happened, our dog (Remmy) had became paralyzed in his back legs, so much that he can’t do for himself at all. The vet’s told us we had two options, we could choose to put him down or we could do surgery – Surgery was way out of our funds we had available and then, euthanasia, nope absolutely not!

Needless to say, we have found a home; for the washer – we’ve been manually draining it for now (which works out for me, because my husband has been washing the clothes since it broke!), and lastly, our sweet Remmy Boy is slowly getting better – he isn’t back to full strength, but he is well on his way!

So, I say all this to say, never lose faith and never get discouraged through anything. Keep peace within yourself, and things will work out! And, of course things may not always go the way you had thought they would, but they went just as they should! Lastly, I believe one of the most important things to remember, is that you can not worry about the things that are out of your control.

Below I have listed some very inspiring quotes – I hope these quotes will help you to pull through whatever you may be going through. It doesn’t last forever!

Be Inspired: Be Not Afraid of Greatness

I believe that William Shakespeare said it best when he said, “Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.”

There are two things that Will Smith and William Shakespeare have in common. 1) They both have the name William. 2)They are both scholar’s in motivation and inspiration.

Here are a few quotes that I hope inspire you as much as they inspire me. If you want to get an extra boost of inspiration- Watch the video!!! Will Smith knows what he is talking about.

“You don’t set out to build a wall. You don’t say ‘I’m going to build the biggest, baddest, greatest wall that’s ever been built.’ You don’t start there. You say, ‘I’m going to lay this brick as perfectly as a brick can be laid. You do that every single day. And soon you have a wall.” – Will Smith

“The separation of talent and skill is one of the greatest misunderstood concepts for people who are trying to excel, who have dreams, who want to do things. Talent you have naturally. Skill is only developed by hours and hours and hours of beating on your craft.” – Will Smith

“Those who believe they can do something and those who believe they can’t are both right.” – Henry Ford

“Man’s greatness lies in his power of thought”. – Blaise Pascal

“There is no greatness without a passion to be great, whether it’s the aspiration of an athlete or an artist, a scientist, a parent, or a businessperson.” – Anthony Robbins

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” -Jeremiah 29:11 (Living Bible)

“When you are destined for greatness, it shows in everything you do. It becomes you. Greatness becomes you.” – Lorii Myers

“Perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. Those who have leadership thrust upon them, and take up the mantle because they must, and find to their own surprise that they wear it well.” – J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

A little inspiration goes a long way so let’s inspire to motivate not only others but ourselves. What greatness are we truly capable of?

Social Media Trends: Stress It, Don’t Stress Over It

Social media is often discouraging. It can stress you out when you are not getting the feedback you expected, or not giving yourself enough time for social media in the first place. Managing and organizing yourself is key to being successful. Here are a few tips that can help make your stress a think of the past.

1. Self-Discipline

Self-discipline is controlling what you do, as well as how and when you do it. In order to meet goals, and to account for your productivity in the work place, requires self-discipline. Often, time management comes into play. Make sure you are giving yourself enough time to manage your social media effectively. Don’t rush through it at last minute! Rushing though will only cost you more time later.

2. Stay Motivated

Staying motivated is key for anything you set out to do. We all know offices are not the most quiet place, and that things are forever changing; however, wasting time on things that are not helping reach your goals will make it hard to achieve success. Focus on what you have already accomplished rather than what you still have left. This will help with your stress level as well as your motivation. It is highly important to not let things stand in the way of your own progress.

3. Goals, Goals, Goals

You can’t make anything happen without goals. You may have heard the old saying, “If you don’t know where you’re going, you’re unlikely to get there.” Figure out your target audience, or what results you are looking for, and make them your goal and go for it. Focus on that goal until you have reached the desired results.

If you constantly focus on increasing your social footprint, and stress its importance, you can achieve great results. Just don’t let the stress of creating it turn you off. Always stay disciplined, motivated and have goals set to achieve. If you have any ideas for reducing stress and improving results, pertaining to social media or just the workplace environment itself, please feel free to comment in the section below.

Tips from “The Girls”: To Toast, or Not To Toast

In this blog, it is easy for me to voice an opinion, but when thinking of public speaking, I cringe. I am one that prefers to be in the background and remain unseen.

Recently, Executive Director Patricia Burkhart mentioned that I should start attending Toastmasters Meetings – http://www.toastmasters.org/. I am anxious about this, and wonder how it will help me in my area of work and life in general. Is it worth the risk of embarrassment?

I would like to hear your stories about Toastmasters or public speaking. Perhaps hearing how you benefited from going to a meeting will motivate me. Who knows, maybe I will even see you there.
