Choosing the Best HVAC Company

When your HVAC system goes out, what’s the first thing you do? If you can’t fix it yourself, you find a repairman! But how do you know who to trust? AdvantaClean recently wrote a blog post packed with great info on finding the right company to fix your problem. Their source? Angie’s List.

Check out the post here: “Tips for Hiring the Right HVAC Repair Company.”

What’s on the list? For one, check the company’s licenses. We recommend a NADCA-certified company. We’re members of NADCA ourselves!

Another thing to do? Homework. Look up their reviews online – not just the best ones on their website. Ask if they have references you can call. For more tips, read AdvantaClean’s full article!

Homeowners and business owners: have you ever hired an HVAC company without doing your research? Or did you find a great company by doing your due diligence? What was the result? Tell  us your thoughts in the comments!

Social Media Trends: Outside the Box

chasitySocial Media is constantly changing, growing and evolving. Being new to this role for our company, I always think to myself, am I doing this right, is there something I could be doing different, is this working for me? So sometimes it comes down to just thinking outside the box.

It may come as a surprise to some, but there are tons of forums where people discuss any number of topics, ideas and products. When researching ideas for our social content, I regularly look at some of these, searching any number of key terms or phrases. But recently I conducted a search just focused on our product names.

I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. People were mentioning our products, asking questions to other forum members about our products, and even customers from our past were recommending our products. To me this was pretty awesome, and it also provided new forums where I could now answer questions and comment on all sort of threads where our products were being mentioned.

Allowing members to ask questions and get answers from someone directly involved in the manufacturing of our products was a big hit. Members of the forums were excited that someone from our company had finally jumped into forums.

In social media, I believe there are no wrong or rights. Each person has a different plan and outlook on how they want to succeed with social media. Sometimes just thinking outside of your usual routine may be that one extra step you need to make a plan work.

Maybe you have social media success stories that worked for you, and that you would like to share. Feel free to leave comments or stories you have in the section below.

Business Sustainability – Look Around, No Telling What You’ll Find

What does beautiful Cleveland County and Shelby NC have in common with the best-of-the-best metropolis? Not much, you may think at first glance. However, a little research shows how much we have to offer.

We boast of movies made here, ranging from the blockbuster, “The Hunger Games,” to the obscure, “Blood Done Sign My Name.” There is even a movie studio complex located at 1 Movie Studio Road (what else) between Shelby and Boiling Springs. It’s for sale, just in case you’re in the market, and includes a helicopter pad, runway, hotel and 100,000 gallon water tank used to film scenes for the movie “The Abyss.”

Perhaps you’ve heard of our music legends. Does Earl Scruggs sound familiar? If not, “let me tell you ‘bout a story of a man named Jed” that Earl made famous picking and singing about in the intro to the Beverly Hillbillies. Scruggs, a Shelby native, was a bluegrass music legend known for his pioneering banjo style.

Does country music icon Don Gibson strike any cords with you? Though he wrote and recorded many hits he is best known for “I Can’t Stop Loving You.” This song was also recorded by Ray Charles (not from here, but we still loved him.) The 400 seat Don Gibson Theater located in uptown Shelby is an art deco style tribute to Don and hosts some of today’s best entertainers, comedians, magicians, actors, and vocalists.

If you’ve heard of World Heavy Weight Champion Floyd Patterson then you’re as old as I am. He was born here in Cleveland County, which is also home to another thing “world,” as Shelby is the permanent home of the American Legion Baseball World Series.

As if all this wasn’t enough, Cleveland County is home to the largest county fair in North Carolina. Shelby is where the Jaws Of Life are manufactured, and everyone’s favorite dish, Livermush, as featured on Tastes Of America.

I am telling you about all of this to make this point: look around your company. If you look with a keen eye and open mind, you can come up with a long list of things to promote your company. Some of the things may not interest you anymore, but those who haven’t heard of your company before will be interested in all sorts of tidbits.

Keep a good record of activities and accomplishments. Note when you did something that helped you make a difference, someone famous was introduced to you or related to a co-worker, a special project you were involved in. Hobbies, vacation destinations, disasters and triumphs are all important to you, your clients, and prospective clients. All of these are tools that can help you promote, and no business can survive without promotion.

Did you know Pancrete was used at the National Archives? Pancrete is helping to protect the Declaration of Independence and US Constitution. Perhaps your business or community has something famous to boast about you’d like to share below?
