Is Your Business due for an Oil Change?

Your vehicle needs an oil change. Three nearby shops are to be found: Pete’s Oil, Jimmy’s, and Fred’s. All advertise fast, great oil changes. All are similarly priced.

You drop your car off at Pete’s and schedule to pick your car up at 9 am. You leave to do other things. You show up at 9 am but you have to wait for yet another three-quarters of an hour until your vehicle is done. You get into your car and there is oil on your steering wheel, your seat is filthy, and to top it off you find a discarded rag lying on your passenger floor. Needless to say, you are not a happy camper!

The next time an oil change is due on your vehicle, you decide to go to Jimmy’s because the price is similar to Pete’s but you are hoping for better service with a different shop. You schedule the pickup at 9 am. You return at 9 am. Your car has its oil changed & is waiting for you. You pay & leave with the peace that you didn’t find anything dirty in your car and you got to leave at the scheduled time.

A couple months later, you need another oil change. This time you decide to visit the third local shop, Fred’s. Pricing is very similar. Again, you schedule pickup to be 9 am.

Thankfully, you finished your work a little early and return to the shop around 8:30 am. As you go to sit in the waiting area, an employee approaches you with your keys. Your car is ready BEFORE the scheduled pickup time. Shocked, you take the keys & pay for your service.

As you thank the shop & walk to your vehicle, you notice your car has been completely detailed. The car is spic and span on the outside! As you take a seat, you notice the dash has been wiped down, floors & seats have been vacuumed, the windows have been cleaned, and the car even smells new! Not to mention, you paid the same price at this place (Fred’s) as you did the two other shops. You are completely ecstatic with your experience!

Car InteriorInstead of leaving, you enthusiastically walk back into the shop. You happily schedule your next visit (in advance) for Fred’s! You leave a tip! You write a 5 star review on their Facebook! You even post on your social media about how amazing the service was & suggest that anyone & everyone go to this specific shop! You have to tell the world how impressed you were with the service!

Consistency is KEY

“Success isn’t always about ‘greatness’. Its about consistency. Consistent hard work gains success. Greatness will come.” – Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

I hate to disappoint The Rock but  – The ONLY THING I consistently do is drink my coffee every morning. However, The Rock would be very happy to know that I have not only found success by drinking my coffee but also that greatness comes from me drinking my coffee!

Warning: This blog consistently uses the word consistent! Related image

On a more serious note. In my seven years of working at Controlled Release Technologies, one specific client of ours has stood out for their consistency. I believe they have set the bar and hung the moon for success in this area.

Here is how they did it! Read on my friends.

EM Cahill has released 64 quarterly newsletters since 2001. Not only have they released that amount of newsletters but they have also released them consistently. We can add organization to their list of traits because you can see their newsletter directory here

“In the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, EM Cahill sends out a quarterly newsletter titled “The IAQ Review”. The main purpose of their newsletter is to keep their clients informed on the many changes happening in the industry. New products, testimonials, and ongoing filter trials are just a few of the many great topics they’ve introduced in the past.”

Now my favorite part…

“The IAQ review has been consistently released every three months for the past 15 years.”

Did you catch the word consistently? Most importantly did you catch “the past 15 years” part?

How many of us could use improvement in this area of our lives? How much more successful could we be if we were a little bit more consistent. As companies and individuals, we should strive (and always be looking) for ways to not only succeed but be GREAT!

One of my favorite quotes is by William Shakespeare. I did a blog several years ago about greatness. You can check it out here

It’s normal to hear “Be Different” or “Dare To Stand Out” today. However, I challenge each of us (in this case) to follow suite of EM Cahill by being consistent.

We want to also extend an extra special thanks to EM Cahill for setting the example for us in this industry and including us as a feature. In this day and time, relationships like this mean the world to us. It’s not just a B2B relationship but a FRIENDSHIP.

Did You Know: The Dangers of Air Ducts

HVAC system maintenance is super important and can save you tons of money in the long run through more efficient, cleaner systems. But what about your air ducts? AdvantaClean has a great blog post titled “Air Duct Dangers: Are Your Dirty Air Ducts Making You Sick?

Here are some cool facts from the article.

Did you know 1/6 allergy sufferers’ symptoms are “directly linked to the fungi and bacteria found in their air duct systems”?

Or did you know this fact? “In a typical six-room home, up to 40 pounds of dust is created every year through everyday living; and these contaminants are pulled into your HVAC system and recirculated up to seven times per day.”

Crazy stuff – just gives you more reasons to keep your ducts clean! Or as HVAC people like to say, “keep your ducts in a row!”

This Crazy Pancrete Installation is Great for Business

The uses of our product, Pancrete, can vary in so many ways! Typically, Pancrete is a product used to resurface rusty, leaking HVAC drain pans. But one client turned his store’s countertop into a Pancrete display!

Screen Shot 2015-08-13 at 10.48.19 AM

Bobby Mantle with Strategic Filtration in Houston, TX, used Pancrete to create a beautiful countertop in his store. He said he decided to use it because it was so beautiful, and it was an easy way to show his clients what Pancrete looks like when installed.

Bobby said it was a very easy process. First, he built the counter out of wood and added a lip to the sides, just enough to pour the Pancrete into. He poured it 1/4″ thick and then caulked the edges to ensure the Pancrete didn’t leak out. It bonded seamlessly to the wood.

His clients love the way it looks and feels, especially with that beautiful blue color. They see it every time they visit his location.

What a cool idea! Have you ever installed a product in an unusual way? Tell us your product stories!
