Be Inspired: Preventative Maintenance Forgetfulness

Because our HVAC systems just run in the background and we just expect them to do so, we forget that they are there. That is until they don’t work like they are supposed to.

Have you ever lost or misplaced your keys? I’ve done that multiple times within the past two weeks. One which involved locking them in my car. That was much fun! Remembrance has not been my friend as of late. To think I am only 17 weeks pregnant & have many, many more weeks/years of forgetfulness to come, isn’t very encouraging.

Forgetfulness isn’t just limited to loss of keys, forgetting to start the dryer after putting your wet clothes in, forgetting to set your alarm, forgetting your wallet, or even forgetting where you parked. Forgetfulness is not only common with pregnancy brain, but also common with our HVAC Systems.

So riddle me this, what if we paid more attention to our heating & air units from the start. I know when this baby comes along in September, seldom will I take my eyes off of him. Obviously, we shouldn’t literally go watch our HVAC unit, but the least we could do is pay more attention to it by showing it some tender, loving, HVAC Preventative Maintenance care. Much like the care for a baby, it doesn’t survive without you. The HVAC unit will not last very long without preventative maintenance.

What is HVAC Preventative Maintenance?

According to Trane, “Regular HVAC preventative maintenance is the best way to ensure trouble-free operation and peak performance. Pre-season maintenance is also important. It can help to avoid a system failure in severe hot or cold weather when you need it most, and it can also keep your energy bill from getting out of control.”

Be sure to Contact your local Contractor for Preventative Maintenance measures.

Who will get the award for being “Most Forgetful”. The nominees are Preventative Maintenance and Pregnancy Brain?
As for me, the winner is Pregnancy Brain. While you may not have the excuse of pregnancy, you certainly have the choice of caring for your HVAC unit with Preventative Maintenance instead of allowing it to be forgotten.
