Case in Point: The First

This was the turning point that led Lynn to create PanGuard. For almost 30 years, PanGuard has been keeping condensate drain pans clean and flowing free, 24-7. PanGuard has been Independently Certified as a Green product, and to this day, still has the highest amount of active ingredients (32%) among all its imitators.

PanGuard is the first and original, timed-release, drain pan treatment, having been in existence since 1985. Besides how great it works, the most interesting thing about PanGuard is the story behind its creation.

Lynn Burkhart, the President of CRT, was a water treatment consultant for a popular amusement resort in Florida. While there, the maintenance staff approached him about HVAC condensate pan overflows. They asked him how to treat the water, and stop clogs and overflows from occurring; basically asking him to create a brand new product to resolve this issue.

When Lynn learned they were currently using cheap tablets that quickly dissolved to treat the water, he had no interest in developing a similar product. However, one day a VERY prestigious guest was visiting the facility and they had a leak. As it would happen, that leak was directly over the guest’s room, and dirty condensate water spilled into his closet, ruining his luggage!
