From the Field: “Safe Food?”

Occasionally at CRT, employees are allowed out of our cages to go to lunch, attend chamber of commerce functions, and even travel to trade shows. As such, last week I attended the International Association for Food Protection’s annual meeting in Charlotte.

While CRT is known for manufacturing HVAC products, we also have clients in the food processing industry. This area of our business has been steadily growing, and we are continually developing new products specific to their needs.

For us, this industry encompasses everything from raising livestock, through processing, storage and eventual preparation. Our products specific to the food industry include: Drain Rings to keep waste disposal/water drains clean; No Frost to keep freezer/refrigerator coils clean and from freezing over; Dispenser Guard to clean sugar snakes from beverage dispensers; and, Scale Stop and BioStop for use in poultry house evaporative coolers.

The meeting and trade show likewise covered the scope of the industry. Attendees and exhibitors included everything from lab testing facilities to cleaning products, from proper storage materials to pest removal. However, one of the pest removal exhibitors decided to have a little fun with their business at my expense.

Once you view the video below, you’ll see what I mean and know why we aren’t allowed out of the office that often.

If you’ve had a memorable trade show experience, or a great idea to get attendees to your booth, we’d love to hear about it. Please leave your comments in the section below.
