Creating interest is very vital to being successful in any job, as I have learned. Kristen and I were trained on professionalism, the importance of self-esteem, and how knowledge is also a key to being more successful. I learned that if I attain the knowledge about our products and the clients or potential clients, I will be more successful.

Lynn, (the President of our company) taught us that pushing a person to do different things is okay as long as that person has the knowledge required to complete the task. He told us that, not having a plan, means you won’t have goals, and having no goals insists that you have no plan. So you need to have a goal, and sub goals, which are the steps you take to meet the goal. For example, if my goal is to sell $x in sales this day, I need to have 1) List of people to call, 2) Telephone and/or computer to carry out the contact, 3) and most importantly know what to say to create interest. It is much easier to create interest with current clients because they already have an idea of what your market is and what they already have an interest in.

We discussed how being cheerful is a way to getting and keeping the client/potentials’ interest. Being cheerful is ten times more effective if it is displayed the way it should be. If you have low self-esteem it affects your performance. And if you do have a lowly attitude or low self-esteem, think about things you’re proud of concerning yourself, your accomplishments, and your goals. I know that you shouldn’t hang around people that are negative or suppress you. The people who want you to survive and want you to succeed are the ones to keep around.

3) GET THE PERSON TO TALK(Find out what they are interested in) This is where the open-ended questions come in. Ask their opinion on things, and get communication going.
