In this blog, it is easy for me to voice an opinion, but when thinking of public speaking, I cringe. I am one that prefers to be in the background and remain unseen.

Recently, Executive Director Patricia Burkhart mentioned that I should start attending Toastmasters Meetings – http://www.toastmasters.org/. I am anxious about this, and wonder how it will help me in my area of work and life in general. Is it worth the risk of embarrassment?

I would like to hear your stories about Toastmasters or public speaking. Perhaps hearing how you benefited from going to a meeting will motivate me. Who knows, maybe I will even see you there.

  1. Rachelle-
I have not attended Toastmasters, but I have a client who is a regular attendee. If you want to do so, call Scott Lucas 704-919-7921. Tell him I gave you his name. He is a good guy.
